Rules
The
race will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the
Prescriptions of the RYA,
The
MYA Cruiser Class Sailing Instructions, including any supplementary S.I’s,
and appropriate ORC, rating authority and class rules. ISAF Advertising
Code Category C and IRC2008 Part 3 (IRC-C) apply.

|
Cruiser
Class Div 1 shall fly Numeral Pennant No. 1
Cruiser
Class Div 2 shall fly Numeral Pennant No. 2, except
that Medway Sonata OD boats may fly
International Code Flag F instead of No. 2 Pennant when racing in Div 2.

2.2
|
Eligibility
to Race
Cruiser
Class Div 1 (IRC)
is open to mono hull Cruisers having a current valid RORC IRC rating
certificate with a TCC above 0.750 and a minimum SSS of 10.
Cruiser
Class Div 2
(MYA PN ) is open to mono hull Cruisers having a valid
MYA PN certificate ..
Boats
without a valid 2008 MYA PN certificate should apply in good time to the MYA
Cruiser Handicapper for a rating. (Contact MYC office, tel. 01634 718399,
or MYC web site ).

Boats
must be sailed in rating trim, carry a copy of their rating certificate on
board and be available for inspection.

The
race committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.

|
Race
Programme.
Start
Times will be as shown above any variation will be made in accordance with
the Sailing Instructions.
Races
will be started using the MYC "5, 4, 1,Go" system, with the
Warning signal at 5 minutes before the start.

Scoring
System. Points
will be awarded using the RRS Appendix A Low Point System. (A2 and A9 will
apply).

|
MYA
Cruiser Class 2008 Sailing Instructions will apply together with any
Supplementary Sailing Instructions.
These
will be E-Mailed to entrants and will also be available from the MYC
administration office (01634 718399), the MYC race box , the MYC Cruiser
Class Website or from roger283@btinternet.com

Courses, designated by
numbers, will be selected from the MYA Cruiser Class Course Sheet (revised
2008) unless otherwise stated in Supplementary Sailing Instructions.
Courses
set may be shortened by a committee boat which will be Positioned at a mark
of the course. However In the event that a committee boat is not available
and a shortened course is required, the PRO or line staff will broadcast on
Ch 37(M1) calling 3 times with 2 minute interval between each broadcast.
They will Inform you of the shortened course and details of the designated
finishing mark. When finishing you should pass as close to the buoy as practicable.
You will be deemed to have crossed the line when your bow is perpendicular to
the buoy. Each boat will broadcast their finishing time as soon as possible.
A completed a Declaration Form is also required. When possible, boats should
record the name and sail number of the boats finishing ahead and astern of them
on the Declaration Form.

Time
Limit will
be 1600 hours for the first boat in each race and rule RRS 35 applies.

Prizes.
The
trophies named above will be presented to
the Class winners at the Cruiser Class Prize Giving at the Strood Plate
Dinner in the MYC clubhouse on Saturday 17th November, 2008.
